RROC Operator - Skillbridge

Job Summary
RROC Operator - Skillbridge at Duke Energy: manage and monitor hydro, solar, and battery storage assets in a 24/7 control room, dispatch generation, and adjust unit controls to meet energy demand while coordinating with ECCs. Responsibilities include real-time decision-making, water/reservoir management (including floodgate operations), maintaining accurate operation logs and generation schedules, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, and communicating unit limitations. The role requires an Associate degree (or 2 years of related experience), willingness to obtain unescorted NERC access, and completing Level 2 JPMs and the RROC Board Evaluation within the first year. Onsite location in Charlotte, NC with relocation assistance provided. Proficiency with RROC computer applications, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work a rotating shift are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or 2 years of work experience in generation/operational environment
- Experience with hydro, solar, or battery storage operations desired
- Ability to obtain unescorted NERC access
- Completion of Level2 JPMs and RROC Board Evaluation within first 12 months
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work in a 24/7 control room environment
- Knowledge of safety, compliance, and regulatory requirements (e.g., FERC)
