Job Summary
Multiskilled O&M Maintenance Mechanic responsible for start-up, shutdown, normal operations, monitoring, servicing, and maintenance of coal generating facility equipment. Follows approved procedures, adheres to location safety rules including red tagging and PPE, and calibrates/repairs equipment. Requires qualification within Mechanical Maintenance and two secondary skillsets (IC&E and Operations), ability to work in confined spaces, pass respiratory and safety requirements, and participate in team training such as Fire Brigade, Confined Space, Hazmat & First Responder. May require training through EDQP and POSS and/or MASS; position may involve shift work, 24/7 site operations, and travel. Working conditions include extreme heat/cold, exposure to noise, dust, humidity, and potential emergency response duties. Weight restriction of 325 pounds and ability to lift up to 50 pounds are essential.
Required Qualifications
- HS Diploma / GED
- Valid driver's license
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated basic computer skills utilizing Windows applications, emails and work management software
- Demonstrated mechanical, electrical or I&C experience
- Ability to wear all required safety equipment and work in confined spaces
- Ability to pass respiratory physical and wear all personal protective equipment
- Ability to undergo training and participate in specialty team training, including Fire Brigade, Confined Space, Rescue, Hazmat & First Responder
- Ability to attend various training classes and successfully complete an employee development and qualifications program (EDQP)
- Successful completion of EEI's Plant Operator Selection System (POSS) and/or Power Plant Maintenance Selection System (MASS)
- Ability to work around equipment that generates electromagnetic fields (EMF)
- Weight restriction of 325 pounds as an essential function of the job
- Onsite Mobility Classification – Work will be performed at a company facility
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Frequent weekend and holiday work
