Job Summary
Join a multiskilled Duke Energy position focused on start-up, shutdown, monitoring, servicing, and maintenance of coal‐fired plant equipment. Responsibilities include electrical maintenance of powerhouse equipment (motors, breakers, transformers, relays, switchyards), instrumentation and control system troubleshooting and repair (including Ovation/WDPF and PLCs), calibration, mechanical maintenance for boilers and related systems, and adherence to safety and environmental programs. The role supports emergency response teams and requires using PPE, completing logs and work orders (Maximo), and operating station equipment with a willingness to work overtime and shifts. Preferred qualifications include a bachelor’s or two‐year technical degree and experience with Ovation/WDPF, PLCs, and fluid-system troubleshooting; strong teamwork, leadership, and independent problem‐solving skills; basic computer proficiency. Location is Semora, NC at the Roxboro Facility with potential temporary reassignment; travel 5-15%; relocation assistance not provided. Must meet basic qualifications and pass required safety and operator qualification programs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to wear safety equipment and work in confined spaces
- Possess or be able to complete safety/qualification programs (Fire Brigade, Confined Space, Rescue, Hazmat & First Responder)
- Possess or complete POSS and/or MASS selection systems
