Job Summary
Provide quality security to offenders at the Residential Reentry Center by monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting buildings and sally ports, and patrolling premises to detect signs of intrusion. Enforce facility rules, monitor accountability logs, and authorize entrance and departure of clients, employees, visitors, and other persons while maintaining safe and secure environments. Process documentation, records, and reports; write daily activity reports on incidents, irregularities, equipment damage, theft, or unauthorized persons. Conduct and participate in fire drills, respond to emergency alarms and disturbances, and observe, collect urine samples, and calibrate breathalyzer machines. Follow medication administration procedures and complete random medication audits. Answer telephone calls to take messages and provide authorized information during business and non-business hours. Evacuate or shelter in place during inclement weather as needed. Work part-time, as scheduled, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Required Qualifications
- Have completed at least one year of education beyond high school or have a high school diploma with two years of related experience
- Must be able to function with minimal on-site supervision
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must have the ability to function as part of a team
- Must be able to utilize computer keyboard
- Must demonstrate basic understanding of Microsoft Outlook
- Must possess superb oral and concise, professional written communication skills
- Must have exceptional organizational skills
- Must have the ability to prioritize multiple tasks concurrently
- Must be capable of generating correspondence and spreadsheets using computer software including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Must possess polished and diplomatic customer relation skills verbally, in person and through telephone communications, and in writing
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality
- Must have competent computer skills, including MS Office and knowledge of office equipment
- Must have proficiency in verbal and written communication skills
- Must have organizational, planning, work management and prioritizing skills
- Must have problem solving ability, attention to detail, accuracy, flexibility, and reliability
- Must be able to maintain flexible work schedule when needed to meet the needs of the facility
- Must be able to structure time, establish priorities, and work independently and as a team
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older at the time the offer of employment is made
- Must be able to work outside of normal working hours
- Must have a valid driver's license
- Must have access to a registered and insured vehicle
- Must be able to pass all required compliance checks and criminal history investigation, including Bureau of Prison NCIC/NLETS
- Must be able to obtain and maintain certification in First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation
- Must have a current driver's license issued by state of residence
- Must have a current vehicle inspection decal
- Must have current vehicle insurance
- Must have current vehicle registration in state of residence
- Must have a satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report
- Must be able to lift and stoop in performing work
