Job Summary
Lead large-scale, complex, high-risk OPS I&IT initiatives by managing project schedules, deliverables, and scope while ensuring compliance with government and ministry standards. Develop complex budgets across multiple funding channels, forecast costs, and reconcile actuals to maintain fiscal control. Source, select, and onboard diverse team members including unionized employees and consultants, clarifying roles and resolving inter-personal conflicts. Proactively identify risks, articulate issues to senior executives, and establish steering committee forums to drive decision-making. Promote project management best practices and I&IT standards, adapting to emerging trends to ensure successful project delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience leading and coordinating large, complex, multi-stakeholder projects
- Ability to prioritize workload, demonstrate critical thinking, identify problems, develop and implement solutions
- Experience managing a project following an Iterative project delivery methodology
- Must be able to work 5 Days ONSITE at any one of the following locations: (1) 49 Place d'Armes, Kingston or (2) 222 Jarvis St, Toronto, Ontario or (3) 5700 Yonge Street, Toronto
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge and understanding of Project Management's Institute's Project Management Body of Knowledge
- Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices
- Knowledge and understanding of Accessibility for Ontarians with Disability Act (AODA) and related regulations and standards
- Ability to make recommendations on the acquisition of software, hardware, and technology resources
- Experience managing and coordinating project monitoring, anticipates and troubleshoots issues, provides ongoing expertise, resolves problems and provides project effectiveness
- Ability to identify conflict between project and functional areas and develops responses to successfully address conflict
- Ability to handle client relationships to manage expectations, provides updates as required, identifies potential conflicts between project and functional areas
