Job Summary
Develop and contribute to comprehensive test strategies for web applications within Agile and DevOps frameworks, managing backlogs and supporting sprint planning. Execute system and user acceptance tests while analyzing business requirements, use cases, and non-functional documentation to ensure systems meet specifications. Create automated test scripts using tools like Selenium or SOAP UI, verify results against expectations, and examine databases with SQL to log variances in the Clear Quest problem management system. Identify, report, and prioritize defects in Jira or Azure DevOps to facilitate timely resolution. Provide recommendations on system component acceptance, conduct root cause analysis, and transfer knowledge to OPS staff while maintaining a central documentation repository.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years in implementing and executing comprehensive test strategies for web applications within Agile and DevOps frameworks
- Excellent knowledge of system testing methodology
- Ability to understand and analyze business requirements, and systems response documents, to design and execute test plans to ensure the system functions and meets the business requirements
- Ability to verify actual results meet expected results
- Ability to examine test databases using SQL and JCL
- Ability to analyze and log test results
- Ability to document and monitor resolution of system variances using an automated problem management system
- 5+ years in Agile/DevOps development
- Proficiency in defect tracking and management tools, such as Jira, IBM ClearQuest, MS Azure DevOps
- Skill in utilizing version control systems, such as Git
- Skill in utilizing CI/CD tools, like MS Azure DevOps, IBM CLI, and Git
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
Desired Qualifications
- Public sector experience (experience working with federal/provincial/broader public-sector healthcare providers)
- Extensive experience in automated testing tools and frameworks, such as Selenium or SOAP UI
