Job Summary
Design and deploy secure, scalable RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot to translate functional specifications into tested applications. Develop detailed programming specifications, user interface designs, and prototypes while writing code, compiling data-driven programs, and conducting unit tests with JUnit or Mockito. Build modular microservices with clear inter-service communication protocols and optimize response time, memory usage, and throughput under load. Implement relational database schemas, secure calls with OAuth2 and JWT, and integrate monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana for operational visibility. Produce clear documentation, lead code reviews, mentor junior developers, and resolve production issues during weekend on-call rotations.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience as a Sr. API Software Developer
- Extensive experience in designing, building, and consuming REST APIs, including experience with API documentation and testing
- In-depth knowledge of integration patterns and best practices, including experience designing and building integration solutions using Spring Integration
- In-depth knowledge of microservice architecture and experience building scalable, highly available systems using various Azure Services
- Hands-On experience in messaging queuing and event-driven architecture
- Strong skills in SQL and experience working with relational databases, such as SQL Server, or Oracle
- Knowledge on Integration with Oauth2, JWT, SAML, etc.
- Knowledge of data transformation techniques, such as mapping and normalization, and experience using them in a Spring Integration context
- Available for any on-call on weekend for production issues
Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge and experience in Criminal Justice Business and System
- Experience with asynchronous communication, multi-threading
- Ability to transform data between different formats (JSON, XML, CSV)
