Job Summary
Design and deploy enterprise network and server infrastructure, configuring Cisco ACE, PIX-ASA, routers, switches, and Checkpoint firewalls across multiple data centers. Manage large-scale multi-tiered networks by planning, building, and administering complex topologies including OSPF, VLANs, and L3 routing. Support project installations for network and SAN environments, ensuring seamless integration of technologies with standards-based frameworks. Provide specialized technological support during deployments while maintaining awareness of emerging IT trends. Requires five-plus years of experience in network and server infrastructure builds, public sector background, and hands-on expertise with Linux, Solaris, and VMware platforms.
Required Qualifications
- 1-year contract (249 business days) - possible extension
- ONSITE 5 days - Dundas Street West, Toronto
- Provides specialized technological support in the build of: Network or Server and SAN infrastructure
- Experience integrating different technologies with standards based infrastructure
- Experience in providing specialized technological support during a project installation

- Expert hands on experience planning/designing, building, configuring, implementing, deploying and administering the following technologies within large enterprises: CISCO ACE, PIX-ASA
- Expert hands on experience planning/designing, building, configuring, implementing, deploying and administering the following technologies within large enterprises: Routers, Switches
- Expert hands on experience planning/designing, building, configuring, implementing, deploying and administering the following technologies within large enterprises: CISCO 6500, Nexxus
- Expert hands on experience planning/designing, building, configuring, implementing, deploying and administering the following technologies within large enterprises: Checkpoint Firewall NG, NGX
- Expert hands on experience planning/designing, building, configuring, implementing, deploying and administering the following technologies within large enterprises: Nokia, SPLAT
- Expert hands on experience planning/designing, building, configuring, implementing, deploying and administering the following technologies within large enterprises: GSS, CSS
- Expert hands on experience planning/designing, building, configuring, implementing, deploying and administering the following technologies within large enterprises: RSTP, VLAN, Inter-VLan, L3 routing, OSPF
- Expert hands on experience planning/designing, building, configuring, implementing, deploying and administering the following technologies within large enterprises: Network Management System (i.e. Solarwinds)
- Certified network engineer with practical experience on network manufacturers (i.e. Juniper and Cisco)
- Experience with one (1) or more different platforms e.g., Windows, Solaris, Linux
- Experience with the installation and setup of operating systems/environments and database technologies
- Knowledge of supporting programming languages and communications protocols for the specified platforms
- Experience with VmWare and/or Solaris containers
- Knowledge of middleware and gateways
- 5+ years of providing specialized technological support in the build of: Network or Server and SAN infrastructure
- 5+ years of experience integrating different technologies with standards-based infrastructure
- 6+ years of knowledge of network topologies
- 5+ years of experience in providing specialized technological support during a project installation
- Public sector experience
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with systems management tools
- Experience with configuration management systems
- Experience with SAN installation and configuration on Hitachi, Oracle, IBM, and/or EMC
- Experience in systems analysis and design, and the use of development tools
