Job Summary
Provide nursing care in accordance with policy and physician orders while identifying resident needs to develop and maintain appropriate care plans. Ensure timely resident admissions and manage the supply, control, and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics by following assigned shift protocols. Apply sound geriatric nursing knowledge and nursing administration principles while adhering to the Nursing Home Act, Health Disciplines Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Pharmacy Act, and Food & Drug Act. This three-month full-time contract in Scarborough offers a competitive compensation package for registered practical nurses with current College of Nurses of Ontario registration.
Required Qualifications
- Current certificate of registration from College of Nurses of Ontario (RPN)
- Ability to provide a copy of the nursing license to indicate good standing
- RPN - Diploma in Practical Nursing
- Current registration as Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Sound nursing knowledge in geriatric care and nursing administration
- Knowledge of the requirements of the Nursing Home Act and Regulations
- Knowledge of the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Knowledge of the Pharmacy Act
- Knowledge of the Food & Drug Act
