Job Summary
Provide nursing care in accordance with policy and physician's orders while identifying resident needs and developing appropriate care plans. Ensure timely and accessible admissions and maintain strict control and safekeeping of drugs and narcotics following assigned protocols. Apply sound nursing practice principles, geriatric care knowledge, and familiarity with the Nursing Home Act, Health Disciplines Act, and Pharmacy Act. This 6-month full-time contract in North Bay offers health and dental benefits from day one.
Required Qualifications
- Current certificate of registration from College of Nurses of Ontario (RPN)
- Ability to provide a copy of the nursing license to indicate good standing
- Diploma in Practical Nursing
- Current registration as Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Sound nursing knowledge in geriatric care and nursing administration
- Knowledge of the requirements of the Nursing Home Act and Regulations
- Knowledge of the appropriate sections of the Health Disciplines Act
- Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Knowledge of the Pharmacy Act
- Knowledge of the Food & Drug Act
