Job Summary
Exercise discretion and judgment to apply rights-of-way principles, identifying land ownership from public and company records. Prepare valuations, estimates, and legal descriptions while negotiating with property owners to acquire easements, permits, and leases. Research encroachment situations, settle disputes, and coordinate with legal counsel on complex property rights issues including eminent domain. Contact state and local agencies to secure crossings and document all communications with landowners. Perform difficult ROW acquisitions and recommend policies to ensure company procedures are communicated effectively. Requires 25-30% travel, valid driver's license, and ability to work overtime or weekends as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Washington/Oregon/Idaho/Montana Real Estate license preferred, not required. Capable of obtaining RE license.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable DMV record
- Four to six years of acquisition and negotiation experience, preferably related to transmission easement acquisitions including oil, gas and electricity
