Job Summary
Conduct identification and inspection of trees along utility lines while documenting work using handheld computers and GIS integrated software. Serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and customers to balance safety, budgetary, and community relation concerns. Prioritize the safety of yourself and your team, managing a geographical area for all vegetation-related activities in an independent environment. Perform overnight travel within Florida for short-term projects, storm work, or contract fill-ins. Requires a forestry or related degree or equivalent experience, strong tree identification skills, and the ability to travel extensively for 6 to 8 weeks at a time.
Required Qualifications
- 2 or 4 year degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science or closely related field OR in lieu of a degree, 2 years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management or other related field
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Must be able to do overnight travel within the state of Florida
- Must be able to travel extensively- 6 to 8 weeks at a time
- Valid Driver License required
- Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be self-motivated
- Show strong organization skills
- Be production oriented
- Be comfortable working in an independent environment and managing a geographical area for all vegetation related activities
- Pre-employment drug screen and background check required
Desired Qualifications
- Background in forestry, arboriculture, horticulture, environmental studies and natural resources, or a related discipline
- Strong tree identification
- Experience in utility vegetation management
- ISA Certified Arborist
- Pesticide certification
- Experience working with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware
