Job Summary
Perform identification and inspection of trees along utility lines, documenting work using handheld computers and GIS integrated software. Serve as a liaison between clients, tree crews, and customers to balance safety, budgetary, and community relations while prioritizing the safety of yourself and your team. This full-time position requires extensive travel for 6 to 8 weeks at a time, with a starting pay of $20 to $26 per hour based on experience. Candidates must possess a degree in forestry or related fields or equivalent experience, hold a valid driver's license, and demonstrate strong organization skills for managing independent geographical areas.
Required Qualifications
- 2 year degree in forestry, horticulture, environmental science or closely related field
- high school diploma/ GED plus 2 years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management or other related field
- High school diploma/GED
- 5 years of UVM experience
- Strong tree identification
- ISA Certified Arborist
- Pesticide certification
- Candidate must be able to travel extensively- 6 to 8 weeks at a time
- Valid Driver License
- Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience working with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware
- Candidate must be self-motivated
