Job Summary
Roving Utility Forester needed to perform tree identification and inspection along utility lines, document work using handheld GIS-enabled tools, and serve as liaison between clients, tree crews, and customers to balance safety, budget, and community relations. 6–8 weeks of travel at a time with company-paid travel and benefits; fieldwork across multiple states in the Eastern United States; outdoors in varied weather and terrain; strong organizational and independent-work capabilities required.
Required Qualifications
- 2 year or 4 year degree in forestry, horticulture, natural resources or closely related field OR 2 years of experience in Utility Vegetation Management or similar field
- Strong tree identification skills (preferred)
- ISA Certified Arborist preferred but not required (optional)
- Pesticide certification preferred but not required (optional)
- Candidate must be able to travel extensively—6 to 8 weeks at a time
- Valid Driver License
- Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office
- Experience with GIS integrated data collection software/hardware preferred
