ROV Pilot Technician

Job Summary
Operate and maintain the ROV system in accordance with established procedures and standards, performing assigned tasks directed by the Operational ROV Supervisor during operations, maintenance, repair, and preparations. Ensure internal and external Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment requirements are implemented while adhering to the DOF Personal Record of Competence and Business Management System guidance. Complete familiarization and debriefing sessions prior to mobilization and demobilization, and participate in projects requiring separate functional descriptions. Troubleshoot technical issues and interface with computer and electronic systems using proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite. This role supports DOF's transition from traditional offshore energy to offshore renewables, requiring a detail-oriented candidate with post-secondary education in ROV, Electrical, Engineering Technology, or Mechanic fields.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience with work class ROV systems
- Post-secondary education with a primary focus in: ROV (Remote Operated Vehicles), Electrical, Engineering Technology, or Mechanic
- Equivalent or related experience or training
- Working knowledge of Technical Specifications and Standards within the renewables Industry
- Level of technical knowledge in computer and electronic interfacing
- Experience with technical testing and troubleshooting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite - Word/Excel/PowerPoint
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to multitask under pressure
- Excellent communicator including language proficiency (reading/writing)
- Ability to work in a team environment, as well as independently
- Must undergo pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
- Must be willing to undergo a criminal background check
