Routing Specialist

Job Summary

Plan and prepare daily delivery routes and truck assignments using Geographic Information System (GIS) software and onboard computer systems to optimize driver productivity and operational efficiency. Analyze route and driver performance data to identify improvement opportunities, verify order transmissions, and provide actionable feedback to management regarding safety, compliance, and underperforming routes. Coordinate with General Sales Managers and Delivery Managers to execute route optimization projects, process routing change requests, and manage delivery routing maintenance for the assigned region. Ensure all routing decisions adhere to Hours of Service regulations, company safety policies, and applicable laws while maintaining professional communication with employees and suppliers.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • High School Diploma or GED

Desired Qualifications

  • Associate degree or two-year equivalent in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field
  • Relevant beverage distribution, delivery, routing, logistics, or transportation experience
  • Experience with route planning, Geographic Information System (GIS) based software, onboard computer systems, or transportation technology
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn and effectively utilize company routing and reporting systems
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and route planning abilities
  • Ability to analyze operational data and identify opportunities to improve driver productivity and route efficiency
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with management and field personnel
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, time-sensitive requests, and daily operational deadlines
  • Working knowledge of driver safety, Hours of Service, and transportation compliance requirements
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments and locations
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including days, mid-shifts, nights, and weekends as business needs require
