Route Supervisor

Job Summary
Oversee daily waste collection operations to ensure routes are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. Supervise drivers and route personnel while maintaining continuous communication throughout the workday. Monitor performance using routing software, GPS tracking, and onboard cameras to coordinate updates for service delays or equipment breakdowns. Conduct daily truck inspections, enforce safety policies, and investigate customer or municipal service issues promptly. Drive routes regularly to identify improvements and assist with collection activities as needed. Complete accurate documentation for accidents, incidents, and exception reports. Provide regular updates to management on route performance and staffing needs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced operational environment
- Proficiency with technology, including route management systems, GPS platforms, and mobile applications
- Ability to operate company vehicles and equipment safely
- Ability to safely operate trucks and collection equipment
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, reach, and perform physical tasks for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds
- Ability to enter and exit vehicles frequently throughout the workday
- Ability to work outdoors and navigate uneven terrain when necessary
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 Years experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- CDL Class A or B Preferred
- Ability to operate company equipment required
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory, transportation, logistics, waste management, or related operational experience
- CDL Class A or Class B License
- Previous experience managing field personnel and fleet operations
