Route Service Technician

Job Summary
Pick up and transport medical waste safely according to federal, state, and local regulations while operating a 26 ft. straight truck. Plan daily schedules by reviewing manifests and route sheets, then prepare and load trucks with necessary supplies. Ensure waste is properly packaged, secure equipment prior to operation, and complete required paperwork including DOT Driver Logs. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections, report maintenance issues promptly, and adapt to fast-paced environments while maintaining safety standards. Deliver the highest level of customer service to assigned accounts and communicate issues to supervisors.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two or more years of customer service experience
- Completion of accredited driving school or one or more years of commercial driving experience
- Current driver's license with excellent driving record
- Current Medical Examiner's Certification (MEC)
- Ability to read maps
- Good computer skills
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment
- Safety toe work boots with slip-resistant soles
- Bluetooth headphone system
Desired Qualifications
- Previous route management experience
- CDL Class B
- Covid vaccine
- Mandatory immunizations
- Customer credentialing
