Job Summary
Route Service Technician (Box Truck Driver) role servicing assigned medical-waste accounts with a 26 ft straight truck. Responsibilities include picking up and transporting waste per federal/state/local regulations, reviewing manifests and route sheets to plan daily schedules, loading supplies, ensuring proper waste packaging, delivering high levels of customer service, securing loads, completing DOT driver logs (if applicable), performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, and maintaining safety standards in a fast-paced environment. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two or more years of customer service experience; previous route management experience preferred
- Completion of accredited driving school or one or more years of commercial driving experience required
- Current driver’s license with excellent driving record; CDL Class “B” preferred but not required
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC)
- Must read maps and demonstrate good computer skills
- Regularly carry 25–50 lbs, occasionally up to 75 lbs
- Push/pull carts up to 500 lbs using mechanical aids or manual effort
- Age 25 years or older with driving experience
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and adapt to a dynamic work environment
- Safety toe work boots with slip-resistant soles and a Bluetooth headphone system required
- Covid vaccine preferred; may require mandatory immunizations and customer credentialing
