Job Summary
Route Service Technician (Box Truck Driver) role involving servicing assigned medical-waste accounts with a 26 ft straight truck, ensuring proper packaging and transport of waste, and providing high-level customer service. Responsibilities include planning daily routes from manifests and route sheets, loading supplies, performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintaining compliance with DOT/state regulations, completing required paperwork, and adapting to a fast-paced work environment while adhering to safety standards. Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Two or more years of customer service experience
- Completion of accredited driving school or one or more years of commercial driving experience
- Current driver’s license with excellent driving record; CDL Class “B” preferred but not required
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certification (MEC)
- Ability to read maps and demonstrate good computer skills
- Regularly carry 25–50 lbs, occasionally up to 75 lbs
- Push/pull carts up to 500 lbs using mechanical aids or manual effort
- Age 25 years or older with driving experience
- Ability to work in all weather conditions and adapt to a dynamic work environment
- Safety toe work boots with slip-resistant soles and a Bluetooth headphone system required
- Covid vaccine preferred; may require mandatory immunizations and customer credentialing
