Job Summary
Sell, deliver, stock, and merchandise Herr's brand snack foods to grocery retail and independent chain stores in the Lancaster, PA area. Progressively increase customer sales volume by building relationships with key decision makers, inquiring about needs, and soliciting new accounts. Execute promotional programs by acquiring displays and shelves, rotate credit for stale items, and manage daily inventory accuracy. Process orders via hand-held computers, collect cash, and conduct daily pre-trip vehicle safety inspections while maintaining a clean truck. Work Monday through Friday for approximately 45-55 hours weekly, including inventory pick-up in Lancaster, PA.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have a valid driver's license in the current state of residence
- Must possess an excellent driving record
- No more than 2 moving violations within the past 3 years
- No DUI's within the past 3 years
- Must possess a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Must pass a job-related assessment with a score of 70% or better
- All job offers are contingent upon successfully passing a drug test
- Herr Foods has a Random Drug Testing program for all active employees
- Able to read, write, understand and speak English
- Possess a stable work history with good references
- Display evidence of sound judgment and have the ability to adapt quickly to different work and driving conditions
- Possess strong communication, persuasion, and organizational skills
- Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage priorities effectively
- Must be able to constantly reach
- Must be able to frequently sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, climb, drive, and lift up to 32 pounds
- Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 48 pounds
- Must be able to push or pull up to 40 pounds
- Must be available for Monday-Friday approximately 45-55 hours a week
- Inventory pick up required in Lancaster, PA
