Job Summary
Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers while inspecting and reporting any mechanical problems with the vehicle. Load the truck in an organized manner to effectively use space, collect payments for certain packages, and verify the content of pickups on shipping papers. Notify management of any problems or discrepancies and maintain professional personal appearance as well as cleanliness of the vehicle. Operate a manual transmission or demonstrate willingness to learn, ensuring you can lift freight up to 100 pounds and pass a DOT physical exam. Work Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM until route completion, with 10–15 hours of overtime expected weekly and voluntary weekend shifts available. Starting wage is $20.00–$24.00 per hour, with paid overtime at time and a half after 40 hours.
Required Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age
- Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards
- Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
- Ability to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, while moving freight on and off company vehicle
- Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learn
