Job Summary
Cover open, vacant, or temporarily unassigned routes based on business needs while delivering and picking up freight from customers and shippers. Inspect and report mechanical problems, load the truck to prevent damage, collect payments, and verify pickup contents against shipping papers. Notify management of discrepancies and maintain vehicle cleanliness. Operate a manual transmission with a valid driver's license and good driving record. Work Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM until route completion, with potential overtime and weekend availability.
Required Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age
- Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards
- Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
- Ability to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, while moving freight on and off company vehicle
- Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learn
