Job Summary
Deliver and pick up freight from customers and shippers while inspecting vehicles for mechanical issues and loading cargo to prevent damage. Collect payments for specific shipments and verify pickup contents against shipping papers, reporting any discrepancies to management. Maintain a professional appearance and keep the vehicle clean, operating a manual transmission or learning the skill as needed. Work Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM until route completion, with 10–15 hours of overtime expected weekly and weekend availability on a voluntary basis. Starting wage is $20.00–$24.00 per hour, with overtime paid at time and a half after 40 hours. Candidates must be at least 21, hold a valid driver's license with a good record, and pass a DOT physical, drug screening, and background check.
Required Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age
- Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards
- Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
- Ability to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, while moving freight on and off company vehicle
- Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
