Job Summary
Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers while inspecting vehicles for mechanical issues and loading cargo to maximize space. Collect payments for specific packages, verify pickup contents against shipping papers, and notify management of any discrepancies or problems. Maintain professional appearance and vehicle cleanliness, operating a manual transmission or learning to do so. Work Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM until route completion, with 10–15 hours of weekly overtime expected and weekend availability as needed. Starting wage is $20.00–$24.00 per hour based on experience, with paid time and a half after 40 hours. Candidates must be at least 21, hold a valid license with a good record, and pass a DOT physical, drug screening, and background check.
Required Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age
- Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards
- Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
- Ability to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, while moving freight on and off company vehicle
- Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learn
