Job Summary
Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers, inspecting for mechanical issues and reporting discrepancies. Load the truck to maximize space and collect payments for specific packages while verifying pickup contents against shipping papers. Maintain a professional appearance and vehicle cleanliness, ensuring compliance with DOT physical exam standards and hazardous material handling protocols. Operate a manual transmission vehicle with a valid license, working independently during Monday through Friday shifts from 7:30 AM until route completion, with potential overtime expected.
Required Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age
- Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards
- Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
- Ability to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, while moving freight on and off company vehicle
- Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learn
