Job Summary
Deliver and pick up freight in a timely manner from customers and shippers, inspect vehicles for mechanical issues, and load the truck to maximize space. Collect payments for certain packages, verify pickup contents against shipping papers, and notify management of any discrepancies. Maintain professional appearance and vehicle cleanliness while operating a manual transmission or learning to do so. Work Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM until route completion, with potential overtime and weekend availability. Must hold a valid driver's license, pass a DOT physical, and meet age and background screening requirements.
Required Qualifications
- At least 21 years of age
- Hold a valid Driver's License with a good driving record which meets company standards
- Ability to pass a DOT physical exam
- Ability to bend, lift, twist, climb stairs, while moving freight on and off company vehicle
- Ability to lift and move freight weighing up to 100 pounds
- Ability to work with all types to freight which include, but are not limited to hazardous material, perishable food and alcohol, firearms, ammunition, and live animals
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and a criminal background check
- Ability to operate a manual transmission, or have the willingness to learn
- Possess good customer service and can work independently
- Monday- Friday, 7:30AM- completion of route
- 10-15 hours of overtime may be expected each week
- Voluntary OT on weekends (as needed)
