Job Summary
Deliver compressed gas cylinders to local and regional business customers on a set route and schedule, ensuring safe, timely pickups and returns of empty cylinders. Operate company trucks with a Gross Vehicle Weight over 26,000 lbs, maintaining accurate delivery documentation including load manifests, barcodes, and FDA lot numbers. Provide customer service by answering questions regarding product costs, ordering, and delivery times while adhering to all safety regulations and DOT policies. Work over-the-road shuttle assignments for up to five consecutive days, including weekends and holidays as needed. Adapt quickly to changes in route or schedule and participate in required safety meetings and training sessions.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Class A Driver's License with HAZMAT and tanker endorsements
- No moving violations, DUI, or DWI convictions within the past 7 years
- Valid DOT medical certificate
- Certificate from an accredited truck driving school and completion of Entry Level Driver Training program required if less than one (1) year of experience operating trucks with GVW over 26,000 lbs
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and DOT regulations
- Ability to transport hazardous cargo and drive for up to 8 hours per day, with flexibility for extended hours as needed
- Ability to read and interpret material safety data sheets (MSDS)
- Skilled in maneuvering and parking large trucks
- Alert, focused, and detail-oriented with strong stress management skills
- Dependable, disciplined, and resourceful
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Ability to hold scanning devices, drive, and sit or stand for extended periods
- Frequent stooping, crouching, reaching, climbing, kneeling, and repetitive motion
- Regularly lift 25 to 75 lbs; occasionally lift 76 to 100+ lbs
- Push and pull wheeled containers weighing up to 1,000 lbs
- Tighten ratchet binders multiple times daily
- Ability to identify and differentiate between various scents
- Work in various weather conditions
- Adapt quickly to changes in route or schedule
- Must be available for weekend shifts
- Must be available for holidays as needed
- Must be available for OTR shuttle assignments for up to five (5) consecutive days, at least two (2) weeks per month
