Job Summary
Route Delivery Driver Trainee focused on learning the Customer Delivery Specialist role, including safe operation of a delivery vehicle and all duties to provide world-class service. Responsibilities include performing pre- and post-trip inspections, safely driving a truck (gross vehicle weight under or over 26,000 pounds), delivering product to stores, executing on promotions, unloading and merchandising products to PBV and customer standards, stocking shelves and displays, obtaining signatures and stamps for invoices, communicating issues to store personnel, and complying with DOT and FMCSA regulations. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, valid driver’s license, ability to obtain a CDL permit within specified timelines, strong customer service orientation, physical ability for heavy lifting and extended work periods, and the ability to work in a team environment. Location is Wilmington, NC, United States; no visa sponsorship is offered.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical prior to first day of employment
- Must be able to obtain a CDL permit by the 15th business day and 45 business days from their date of hire in which to obtain the license, if CDL is not currently held
- Positive attitude and detail oriented
- Perform basic financial calculations
- Regular, reliable, and predictable attendance
- Strong focus on customer satisfaction
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Perform heavy physical labor for extended periods of time
- Able to work in a fast paced, ever-changing environment
