Job Summary
Conduct maintenance, inspection, and assembly of natural gas generators while overseeing diagnostic tests to determine functionality problems. Assemble mechanical components, design action plans for repairs and upgrades, and maintain work logs and inventory records. Meet with clients to identify issues and offer consultation on preventative procedures, alerting them to inspection-prohibiting problems. Provide in-field support for site preparations and special projects, ensuring compliance with all safety policies and procedures. Travel to assigned Atlas Power Shop locations during a 14-day on/7-day off rotational schedule, adapting to changing priorities and extended hours as directed by the supervising manager.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to work legally in the US
- Physical ability to perform all tasks related to the position, such as bending and reaching, standing for long periods of time and lifting over 60 pounds
- Ability to communicate face-to-face and on the phone with or without reasonable accommodation
- Must treat everyone equally with respect and dignity
- Clean motor vehicle record
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks
- Excellent hand-eye coordination
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Certification from a vocational school or trade school
- 2 to 5 years of power generation or diesel mechanic experience
- Solid knowledge and understanding of basic mechanic tools
- An aptitude for mechanical service, diagnosis, and repair
- Demonstrated experience with repairing equipment
- Time management and organizational skills
- Effective communication and customer service skills
- Read and follow complex directions in manuals and relay information in reports
