Job Summary
Drive specialist HGV Class 2 vehicles and operate wheeled loading shovels at Refuse Transfer Stations and Household Refuse Recycling Centres. Perform daily inspections and maintenance on vehicles and mobile plant, while carrying out general housekeeping duties across site grounds and buildings. Actively participate in recycling activities and serve as a Household Refuse Recycling Centre Attendant. Work weekends and bank holidays with flexibility to rotate roles and cover overtime as service needs dictate.
Required Qualifications
- HGV class 2 licence
- Current CPC
- Ability to gain CITB Certification or equivalent on Wheeled Loading Shovel
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to drive / operate a range of vehicles, fixed / mobile plant and equipment
- Prepared to work outside of normal hours to maintain the service
- Must be flexible and adaptable to change roles to meet operational requirements
- Good team member
- Good communication skills when dealing with problems
- There may be a requirement to work at other Bristol Waste Company locations/service areas
- Required to work weekends and bank holidays (except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year's Day)
- Expected to work reasonable overtime in line with the needs of the service
