Job Summary

Rope Access E&I Technicians perform inspections at height using rope access techniques in compliance with SPRAT or IRATA standards. Responsibilities include conducting NDT and API inspections on various industrial components, assisting with access system installations, and documenting inspection findings. Candidates must hold SPRAT or IRATA certification, possess 1–3 years of relevant experience, and have a solid understanding of mechanical systems and safety practices. Additional qualifications like NDT certifications and safety training are advantageous.

Required Qualifications

  • SPRAT or IRATA Certification (Level I or II depending on role scope)
  • 1–3 years of experience performing inspections in refining, petrochemical, or energy environments
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, inspection terminology, and field safety practices
  • Physically capable of performing rope access duties, including climbing, rigging, and extended work at height
  • Ability to travel regionally or nationally for projects
  • Ability to pass pre-employment background checks, TWIC, DISA, and site-specific onboarding
  • Strong work ethic with a safety-first mindset

Desired Qualifications

  • Multiple NDT Level II certifications or ASNT/PCN/CGSB equivalencies
  • Experienced and/or licensed electrical/instrumentation technicians preferred
  • API 510/570/653, CWI, AMPP or other advanced certifications
  • Radiation Safety Training / IRRSP or State Industrial Radiographer Card (if applicable to RT)
  • Familiarity with digital reporting systems or NDT data software
  • Prior experience working in refineries, petrochemical plants, pipeline projects, or fabrication shops
  • Current TWIC, OSHA 10/30, or other industry-standard safety certifications
  • Previous experience supporting mechanical integrity or turnaround inspection programs
  • Rigging certification, confined space training, or fall protection awareness credentials
  • Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and comfort working in fast-paced team environments
