Job Summary
Conduct individual and group advising related to postsecondary planning, educational transitions, and workforce pathways. Develop collaborative relationships with students, families, school personnel, and community stakeholders to support recruitment, engagement, and success. Evaluate participant progress, track outcomes, and compile program statistics while maintaining records and databases. Make frequent visits to partner schools and organizations to coordinate pathway activities, deliver training sessions, and facilitate industry engagement. Respond to inquiries regarding program offerings and assist in identifying funding opportunities. Some evening and weekend work required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Four (4) years of related experience
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, written communication, and public speaking skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task, set priorities, track progress, and meet deadlines
- Attention to detail with an ability to exercise discretion and sound judgement, utilize problem-solving and critical thinking, and maintain confidentiality
- Ability to work in a professional, fast-paced environment with individuals and groups from a variety of backgrounds and levels of experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to organize information for effective presentation and facilitate both virtual and in-person groups
- Must be goal-oriented and a self-starter
- Ability to work both collaboratively and independently within organizational and community-based environments
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, families, schools, and community partners
- Ability to work independently within community-embedded settings
- Ability to maintain records, prepare reports, and manage multiple priorities
- Able to travel
- Some evening and weekend work
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of hire and maintain work authorization throughout the employment term
- Texas law requires all males age 18 through 25 to be properly registered with the Selective Service System
- All positions are security-sensitive
- Applicants are subject to a criminal history investigation
Desired Qualifications
- Degree in education, counseling, social sciences, or related fields
- Experience working with high school, postsecondary, non-traditional, or transition-aged student populations
- Experience with education, workforce development, mentoring, student support, counseling, outreach, or community engagement initiatives
- Experience supporting rural and/or under-resourced groups or communities
- Experience with pathway development, student support systems, workforce alignment, persistence initiatives, or transition supports
- Previous mentoring or tutoring experience
- Knowledge of Salesforce CRM or similar data systems
- Bilingual skills
- Knowledge of postsecondary access, workforce pathways, and student success resources
