Job Summary
Coordinate Housekeeping Team activities by assigning times, checking rooms, and ensuring staff clock in/out on time. Clean vacant and occupied rooms to guest-ready status within specified time constraints while maintaining logs, bibles, and inventories. Monitor guest room and public area cleanliness, respond to guest requests immediately, and report discrepancies to management. Manage key control, maintain supply inventories, and ensure compliance with safety and security measures. Perform physical duties including lifting 30 pounds, standing eight hours, and crawling or kneeling as needed. Work any shift including weekends to maintain hotel standards.
Required Qualifications
- Honesty and trustworthiness
- Security clearances
- Prior housekeeping experience in lodging, housing, hotels, hospitals, or care facilities
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted
- Ability to lift and/or carry 30 pounds unassisted
- Ability to stand for eight hours
- Ability to bend, stretch, reach, crawl, and kneel
- Ability to see and hear
- Ability to communicate with other associates and/or guests
- Knowledge of proper procedures for handling of linens, terry and other supplies
- Knowledge of sanitation of supplies, guestrooms, public areas
- Knowledge of guestroom cleaning procedures
- Knowledge of safety and security measures
- Knowledge of assistance in supervising and managing staff techniques
- Knowledge of materials, supplies and equipment used in the housekeeping department
- Ability to follow and manage using the Company procedures and policies
- Ability to be organized to maintain logs, bibles, checklist, and inventories as scheduled
- Ability to maintain designated minutes per room
- Ability to maintain guest privacy
- Ability to follow cleaning procedures in the company systematic fashion
- Ability to effectively communicate with guests and co-workers via various methods to include: messages and communication log books
- Ability to learn/use computer systems necessary to perform daily tasks to include: Quore, Hotel Effectiveness, etc.
- Ability to exercise discretion to maintain guest privacy
- Ability to work alone AND as a team member
- Ability to comply with all standards
- Ability to multi task, remain service centric
- Ability to maintain a crisp, clean and professional appearance daily adhering to grooming and uniform standards
- Thorough knowledge of emergency procedures
- Understanding of the safety and security needs of our guests and associates
- Physical presence at the hotel
- Ability to stand, walk for long periods of time
- Ability to work any day/shift, including weekends
