Job Summary
Rooms Inspector role responsible for monitoring cleanliness of guest rooms and public areas and ensuring guest satisfaction with housekeeping services. Requires prior housekeeping experience in lodging or related facilities, a high school diploma or equivalent, physical ability to lift and move heavy items, communicate effectively with guests and staff, and adherence to safety, sanitation, and privacy standards. Responsibilities include coordinating housekeeping activities, maintaining cleanliness to brand standards, managing logs and inventories, responding to guest requests, and upholding professional appearance and scope of duties as assigned. Familiarity with standard housekeeping procedures, materials, and equipment, and ability to use systems like Quore or Hotel Effectiveness is expected.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior housekeeping experience in lodging, housing, hotels, hospitals, or care facilities
- Must be able to push or pull 60 pounds unassisted and lift and/or carry 30 pounds unassisted
- Must be able to stand for eight hours, bend, stretch, reach, crawl, and kneel
- Must be able to see and hear
- Must be able to communicate with other associates and/or guests
- Knowledge of proper procedures for handling linens and supplies
- Sanitation of supplies, guestrooms, public areas
- Guestroom cleaning procedures
- Safety and security measures
- Ability to supervise and manage staff techniques
- Through knowledge of materials, supplies and equipment used in housekeeping
- Must be able to learn/use computer systems (e.g., Quore, Hotel Effectiveness)
- Must be able to exercise discretion to maintain guest privacy
- Ability to maintain logs, checklists, inventories
- Ability to work alone and as a team member
- Maintain a professional appearance and grooming standards
- Follow all cleaning procedures and company policies
- Assist guests professionally and with a hospitable attitude
