Job Summary
Respond to all guest requests, complaints, and accidents via reservations, comment cards, letters, and phone calls, ensuring follow-up for guest satisfaction. Motivate, coach, counsel, and discipline Rooms Division personnel according to SOPs while developing managers and employees. Tour operating departments daily, conduct walk-throughs of public areas and guestrooms to verify cleanliness and maintenance standards, and monitor oversold dates to maximize room revenue. Operate the Front Office computer system, B.X. console, and radios efficiently, preparing revenue forecasts and attending daily and monthly Rooms Division meetings. Maintain open communication with all departments, monitor labor expenses through schedule approval, and ensure compliance with Highgate Hotel policies, service standards, and loss prevention protocols.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
- 4-year college degree and at least 1 years of related experience
- 2-year college degree and 2 or more years of related experience
- Previous supervisory experience
- Proficiency in Windows
- Proficiency in Company approved spreadsheets
- Proficiency in word processing
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written
- Ability to listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests
- Ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
- Ability to handle problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems
- Ability to understand and evaluate complex information, data, from various sources to meet appropriate objectives
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of information
- Ability to maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards
- Ability to wear nametags
- Ability to maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming
