Job Summary
Supervise staff and manage daily operations for a designated shift, creating efficient schedules while maintaining labor costs and staffing objectives. Develop and produce menu items, ensure kitchens are stocked, and monitor performance and profit objectives to achieve desired results. Enthusiastically promote superior customer service, enforce quality assurance procedures, and maintain strict compliance with health department and regulatory standards. Manage work procedures, expedite workflow, and oversee budget processes by providing recommendations and reporting concerns. Conduct staff development, training, and performance evaluations, including disciplinary actions and hiring recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- Associates Degree (A.A.) in culinary or related field
- minimum of four years culinary experience in multiple venues
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum of three years previous supervisory experience
- Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, and Outlook)
- Must be flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, weekends, and overtime
- Must have the ability to interact with guests, staff and colleagues and resolve problems and conflicts in a diplomatic and tactful manner
- Ability to read and communicate verbally in English
- Written communication skills in English
- Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations
- Must qualify for a license with the Pennsylvania State Racing Commission
- Must meet any credentialing requirements of the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
- Must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must have the ability to push, pull, reach, bend, twist, stoop, stack, crouch, kneel and balance
- Must have close vision
- Must have color vision
- Must have peripheral vision
