Job Summary
Cleans and prepares guest rooms by meeting established standards of cleanliness and propriety to assure guest satisfaction and maximize revenues. Retrieves items from shelves and storerooms, sets up cleaning carts, and maintains them in a clean, orderly fashion. Cleans windows, doors, walls, and fixtures, often using ladders or stools, while washing restrooms, dusting furniture, and vacuuming carpets and hard floors. Strips beds, checks mattresses for soil, restocks amenities, and inspects room equipment to report maintenance deficiencies in writing. Lifts mattresses and moves heavy furniture, operating vacuums weighing up to 25lbs. Inspects door and window locks, secures keys and supplies, and maintains a friendly demeanor. Performs other duties as assigned. Must have hotel experience, be able to lift 50lbs. continually, and work in an indoor climate-controlled environment with excessive heat in laundry. Full-time position at The Hiltons on Canyon in Boulder, Colorado.
Required Qualifications
- Hotel experience
- Basic knowledge of general cleaning principles
- Use of cleaning products
- Operation of standard cleaning equipment
- Ability to understand and follow verbal/written instructions
- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs. continually throughout a shift
- Ability to push, pull and move levers, equipment and furniture throughout a shift
- Ability to work with arms raised above head throughout a shift
- Ability to maneuver fully loaded maid cart, weighing up to 50lbs., through hallways and into/out of closets during entire work day
- Ability to identify minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas
- Ability to read written instructions and computer print-outs
