Job Summary
Clean and prepare guest rooms by meeting established standards of cleanliness and propriety to assure guest satisfaction and maximize revenues. Retrieve items from shelves and storerooms, set up cleaning carts, and maintain supplies in an orderly fashion. Clean windows, doors, walls, and fixtures, often using ladders to reach hard-to-reach areas, while washing restrooms and hard floors by hand. Replace towels, soaps, and amenities, strip and remake beds, and vacuum carpets and hard surfaces. Inspect door locks, room equipment, and closet conditions, immediately reporting safety issues or maintenance deficiencies to management. Secure keys and equipment, and perform other duties as assigned. Work in an indoor climate-controlled environment with occasional heat and humidity in the laundry area.
Required Qualifications
- Must have basic knowledge of general cleaning principles
- Must have basic knowledge of use of cleaning products
- Must have basic knowledge of operation of standard cleaning equipment
- Must be able to understand and follow verbal/written instructions
- Must be able to communicate both verbally and in writing
- Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. continually throughout a shift
- Must be able to push, pull and move levers, equipment and furniture throughout a shift
- Must be able to work with arms raised above head throughout a shift
- Must be able to maneuver fully loaded maid cart, weighing up to 50lbs., through hallways and into/out of closets during entire work day
- Must be able to identify minute debris and dirt in poorly lit areas
- Must be able to read written instructions and computer print-outs
