Job Summary
Perform cleaning duties to maintain hotel rooms in a clean and orderly manner, including making beds, replenishing linens, and vacuuming. Unload and load the housekeeping cart with supplies, replace cleaning materials, and keep the cart neat and stocked. Report maintenance repairs, unsafe conditions, and guest requests to the supervisor while communicating room status and work progress. Record lost and found items and complete cross-training as assigned. Work within recognized time frames to meet brand standards for cleaning times, maintaining regular attendance and punctuality. Lift weights up to 50lbs frequently and 150lbs maximum, adhering to safety procedures regarding chemicals and equipment. Treat others with respect and follow all policies while striving to improve operational standards.
Required Qualifications
- Must pass criminal background check
- Prior housekeeping experience helpful
- Ability to communicate with guests as well as management and team members
- Ability to work under time constraints, and in a fast-paced environment
- Work within recognized time frame appropriate to the task
- Follow all safety procedures
- Meets or exceeds productivity standards
- Lift and carry average weight of 20lbs frequently, maximum weight frequently 50lbs
- Standing/walking up to two miles per day on cement, tile, asphalt, and carpet
- Reaching/overhead extension to pull items down. Pushing and pulling average weight frequently 50lbs, maximum weight 150lbs
- Repetitive motions of bending, kneeling, stooping, and twisting
- Must adhere to the Hotel's safety standards and procedures (i.e., hearing, eye, hand protection for equipment operation)
- Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality
- Treating others with respect and behaving in a manner that is positive, productive and encourages teamwork at all times
- Effectively manage time (e.g., time spent per room, planning, prioritizing)
