Job Summary

Conduct thorough guestroom cleaning according to standards, removing trash and dirty linen while restocking supplies and preparing housekeeping carts. Maintain hallways, public areas, and stairwells by vacuuming, organizing, and removing newspapers or trays as needed. Walk assigned floors at shift start and end to note areas requiring immediate attention and report missing items or maintenance issues via the Alice device. Handle "Lost and Found" items, ensure keys and devices are returned to the Housekeeping Office, and practice safe work habits throughout the day. Carry a phone with a Relay option at all times to communicate professionally with staff and guests.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • experience in a hotel or a related field
  • Flexible and long hours
  • Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects
  • Ability to stand during the entire shift
  • effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
  • effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests
  • multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions
  • effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary
