Job Summary
Perform cleaning duties to maintain hotel rooms in a clean and orderly manner, including making beds, replenishing linens, and vacuuming. Unload and load the housekeeping cart with supplies, replace cleaning supplies, and keep the cart clean and stocked. Report all problems, maintenance repairs, and unsafe conditions immediately to supervisors. Communicate with guests regarding requests and problems, and record and turn in all lost and found items. Complete all other duties as assigned, including cross-training, while meeting brand standard cleaning times and productivity goals.
Required Qualifications
- Prior housekeeping experience
- Must pass criminal background check
- Ability to communicate with guests as well as management and team members
- Ability to work under time constraints, and in a fast-paced environment
- Work within recognized time frame appropriate to the task
- Follow all appropriate policies and procedures while constantly striving to improve all standards of operation
- Follow all safety procedures
- Meets or exceeds productivity standards
- Must adhere to the Hotel's safety standards and procedures (i.e., hearing, eye, hand protection for equipment operation)
- Lift and carry average weight of 20lbs frequently, maximum weight frequently 50lbs
- Standing/walking up to two miles per day on cement, tile, asphalt, and carpet
- Reaching/overhead extension to pull items down. Pushing and pulling average weight frequently 50lbs, maximum weight 150lbs
- Repetitive motions of bending, kneeling, stooping, and twisting
- Regular and reliable attendance and punctuality
- Treating others with respect and behaving in a manner that is positive, productive and encourages teamwork at all times
- Effectively manage time (e.g., time spent per room, planning, prioritizing)
