Job Summary
Load and unload roofing materials from delivery trucks using manual and mechanical methods, operating conveyor belt systems to transport building materials from flatbed trucks to rooftops. Verify and reconcile material orders, accurately documenting inventory movements and protecting customer property during distribution. Coordinate with drivers and roofing contractors to facilitate safe material placement on flat and sloped roofs while adhering to OSHA safety regulations and PPE requirements. Support safety assessments by inspecting delivery sites for hazards and assisting in maneuvering vehicles in tight spaces. Work primarily outdoors Monday through Friday with early start times, occasional overtime, and potential weekend shifts to accommodate fluctuating delivery schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Reliable transportation for commuting
- Authorized to work for any employer in the United States without sponsorship
- Ability to pass criminal and driving background checks
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
- Physical stamina and strength, with the capability to lift between 80-100 lbs properly and repeatedly
- Basic math skills for accurate inventory counts
- Proficient in verbal and written communication in English
- Safety awareness with knowledge of OSHA guidelines
- Knowledge of the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including work boots, gloves, and harnesses
- Ability to read work orders, shipping orders, and follow verbal instructions thoroughly
- Ability to work on sloped roofs of various pitches and heights
- Ability to work in diverse weather conditions
- Exposure to high noise levels
- Availability to work Monday through Friday
- Availability to work with the potential for overtime based on delivery schedules and peak seasons
- Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of work experience in general labor, warehouse operations, delivery, or construction-related fields

Desired Qualifications
- Knowledge of construction materials and procedures
- Proficiency in operating a forklift
- Previous experience in roof work
- Possess over one year of demonstrable experience in building materials, roofing supply, or rooftop delivery
- Solid understanding of the industry standards and practices
- Previous experience in the operation of forklifts, boom/crane trucks, or similar material handling equipment
- Familiarity with the safe and efficient use of conveyor systems
- Familiarity with other relevant loading machinery
- Adherence to safety protocols
- Proficiency in Spanish, in addition to English
- Completion of relevant vocational training or certification in construction
- Completion of relevant vocational training or certification in material handling
- Completion of relevant vocational training or certification in forklift operation
- Forklift certification
