Job Summary
The Roofing Service Technician completes on-site service requests and conducts site visits to assess customer issues, determines a course of action for repairs (typically under $2,000), and coordinates with Sales Schedulers for larger repairs. Responsibilities include meeting with customers to review work, obtaining agreement on the scope and payment terms, ordering materials as needed, delivering repairs to Company workmanship standards, and closing out work orders. The role involves securing payment when appropriate, providing feedback to Sales, Marketing, and Production, and identifying potential revenue opportunities. Requires strong customer service skills, safety adherence, basic math and CRM proficiency, a valid driver’s license and a personal insured vehicle, and the ability to work in a fast-paced home-building/remodeling environment while complying with applicable laws and company policies. Required Qualifications
- A high school degree
- 5+ years of experience in the home building, remodeling, or renovation markets as a skilled tradesman, independent contractor, or project manager
- Demonstrated ability to understand and work with contracts that provide for construction services or financing for construction services
- Basic understanding of home insurance and how home insurance claims are processed
- Strong 4-function math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division)
- Demonstrated computer skills using a service-oriented CRM system, including mobile access
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate clearly with customers, staff, and vendors
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize activities, and adapt to changing information
- Valid driver's license with no restrictions on driving for company-related business
- Clean, reliable, insured personal vehicle for prompt starts
- Solid working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to selling, providing, and invoicing construction services
