Job Summary
Deliver accurate and on-time monthly payroll for HP Romania's 1600+ employees while ensuring strict compliance with local legal frameworks, company policies, and SOX procedures. Coordinate payroll projects, oversee month-end closing activities, and manage employee expense reconciliations. Act as the primary representative before local authorities for payroll-related matters and lead tax and social security audits. Drive continuous process improvements, system configuration evolution, and automation initiatives involving AI and Intelligent Automation. Manage relationships with the local payroll provider and collaborate with global and local HR, controllership, and legal teams. Maintain full fluency in Romanian and English with a focus on customer-oriented communication and analytical problem-solving.
Required Qualifications
- Four-year or Graduate Degree in Business Administration, Finance, HR, Tax, or any other related discipline
- 7-10 years of work experience
- Strong understanding of the payroll framework and Romania government regulations
- Fluent knowledge of Romanian and English
- Experience in collaborating with multiple functions within the country (legal, HR, controllership)
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Excellent analytical and team work skills
- Strong business application skills, in particular experience with Microsoft Excel and collaboration tools such as Teams
Desired Qualifications
- Commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence
- Experience in driving tax audit
- Working in a multinational environment
- Experience with SAP Payroll or ADP Global View
- Experience with Workday HCM and PECI interface
- Digital skills (AI, Intelligent Automation, PowerBI)
