Rolling Stock Technician

Responsible for providing effective engineering and maintenance services for rolling stock and maintenance vehicles for Dubai Metro. Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on rolling stock including passenger service vehicles, engineering support vehicles, shunting vehicles and wagons; conducts routine inspections, identifies surface defects, replaces consumables, and performs minor repairs and technical cleaning. Ensures safe system of works to meet tight maintenance schedules. Tests electromechanical assemblies with various instruments, replaces and installs electrical/electronic components, and aligns and assembles parts. Operates metalworking equipment, repairs and calibrates hydraulic/pneumatic assemblies, verifies dimensions to specifications, and performs wheel truing and bogie overhaul on a periodic basis. Supports complex systems or new projects with senior staff and rotates to First Line Response when required. Maintains accurate maintenance records in a computerized maintenance management system and follows Permit To Work procedures. Requires strong mechanical aptitude, ability to use electrical/electronic/test equipment, and good communication and multi-tasking skills; UAE driving license is preferred.
