Job Summary
Operate vibratory and static rollers to compact asphalt, aggregate, and other paving materials according to project specifications. Monitor surface grade, smoothness, and compaction while maintaining safe distances from crew members and other equipment. Perform daily equipment inspections, report maintenance issues, and keep machinery clean. Follow directions from the paving foreman and adhere to all company safety policies and job-site procedures. Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, and sun.
Required Qualifications
- Valid non-restrictive Florida Drivers License
- Ability to pass a drug and alcohol screening
- Ability to undergo a pre employment background check
- Ability to withstand working in the sun and heat
- Ability to work outdoors for extended periods
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and climb as required on a construction site
- Ability to lift and carry materials and equipment as needed
- Ability to work in heat, humidity, rain, and other outdoor conditions
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to safely operate equipment and follow instructions
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
- Ability to work as part of a team
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience operating a roller or similar heavy equipment preferred
- Knowledge of asphalt paving and compaction practices is a plus
