Roller Operator

Job Summary
Operate heavy roller equipment, including Pad Foot and Smooth Drum rollers, to compact subgrade and seal surfaces in continuous overlapping passes. Determine machine speed and direction based on material compressibility and temperature changes to prevent ridges. Use hand tools like shovels and rakes to move material and ensure job sites remain clean. Adhere to MSHA/OSHA safety guidelines and company policies while working outdoors in all weather conditions. Maintain mechanical knowledge of equipment for routine maintenance and perform duties within a team environment. Applicants must be at least 18 with a valid driver's license and physical ability to lift 50 lbs.
Required Qualifications
- Applicants must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Valid driver's license and have a clean motor-vehicle record to meet company insurance guidelines
- Use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)
- Knowledge of construction materials, construction processes and industry requirements
- Willing to work in a team environment
- Mechanical knowledge of equipment and being able to perform routine maintenance
- Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50 lbs. on a regular basis
