Roll Stand Operator

Job Summary
Maintain paper roll inventory, order correct quantities, and shift rolls onto presses. Set up splicers for continuous feed, hang plates, fill ink fountains, and check conductivity. Perform initial checkouts, act as a second press operator when required, and enter shop floor data into the computer. Diagnose and repair complex electrical, electronic, and mechanical issues on production equipment to minimize downtime while reading schematics and ladder logic. Collaborate with production to prioritize work orders, support changeovers, and reduce repeat failures. Document maintenance activities and recommend reliability improvements. Work steady 12-hour night shifts with overtime potential.
Required Qualifications
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate both written and verbal
- Must be dependable, reliable and responsible in fulfilling obligations
- Must work well with others
- Must be flexible and open to change when needed
- Able to follow instructions and make decisions
- Must be proven self-starter to complete projects/work orders
- Must have some printing experience
- The ability to work 10-to-12-hour shifts
- Must have the ability to interpret and utilize various units of measure and their conversions
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times
Desired Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 1-year Press Room experience
