Job Summary
Operate a heavy-duty truck to prepare, load, and transport large mobile open-top and compactor containers to disposal sites, transfer facilities, and customer locations. Navigate driveways, alleyways, lots, and high-traffic roadways while performing highly skilled backing maneuvers in tight overhead environments. Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections, complete required paperwork, and report customer complaints, incidents, or safety hazards to the Route Manager or Dispatch. Identify containers needing repair or replacement and adapt duties as scheduled by management. Maintain reasonable, regular, punctual attendance consistent with company policies and federal standards. Requires a Commercial Driver's License B (CDL) and an acceptable driving record.
Required Qualifications
- Commercial Driver's License B (CDL)
- An applicant must be 21 years of age
- Acceptable driving record
- Complete Pre-Employment DOT drug screen, physical, and background check, which will include previous employment check, criminal history, and motor vehicle record review
- Required to use motor coordination with arm, hand, finger, and leg dexterity
- Required to exert physical effort in handling objects more than 75 pounds frequently
- Requires pushing, pulling, bending, twisting, and lifting to 100 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Commercial Driver's License Class A or B with an airbrake endorsement is a plus
